Technical meeting at the LIPU Wildlife Rescue Centre of Tigliole d’Asti

On 16–17 February, a technical meeting was held at the LIPU Wildlife Rescue Centre (CRAS) in Tigliole d’Asti, dedicated to replicating release techniques for young raptors through the hacking method.
Over the two days, the team from the CRAS Lago di Vico – Ente Monti Cimini shared the experience and expertise gained also within the LIFE LANNER project, with the aim of transferring operational methodologies and promoting their application in other contexts.
The communication activities of the LIFE LANNER project, carried out through various outreach channels, are designed to make the results accessible not only to specialists, but also to institutions and practitioners involved in raptor conservation. Thanks to this dissemination of acquired experience, it was possible to initiate an exchange of good practices related to the use of the hacking technique.
The meeting had a predominantly technical and operational focus, concentrating on the design and construction of the structures required to apply this methodology. The goal is to begin the first experimental installations as early as next month, enabling the use of the technique on both a diurnal and a nocturnal raptor species.
The initiative falls under Action E.3 – Replication and transfer of the project, and represents a concrete step forward in spreading and applying the good practices developed, promoting the sharing of expertise and the adoption of effective approaches for the conservation and recovery of raptors!
