Technical inspection to secure power lines around release sites
On Tuesday and Wednesday 2-3 February a team of technicians from e-distribuzione inspected Lake Vico Natural Reserve and the Regional Park of Marturanum, together with the staff of Regione Lazio responsible for those areas.
As foreseen by action C3, the aim of the survey was to pinpoint problematic sectors of powerlines to secure them before releasing lanner falcons. During the two inspections, 150 poles have been found to present a risk of electrocution. Once the surveys have been completed, the lines requiring intervention will be mapped, and e-distribuzione will start field work.
Securing these lines will not only benefit the lanner falcons released during the project, but all wild birds that inhabit the area.
